Day 11 – Brownie Batter Shake Day

Day 11 – Brownie Batter Shake Day

“Most people want to be delivered from temptation but would like it to keep in touch.” ~Robert Orben

Calm down, i’ll get to talking about the ‘brownie batter shake’ in a minute. First off, today is the beginning of the Max Phase and I definitely feel out of my element. I opened the box and felt like a pharmacist with all the variety-vitamin packets. I immediately went to Gene to see what was up. Pills….lots and lots of pills….in lots and lots of white packets. I can already tell this is going to be a pain in the you-know-what.

shaking it counts as a workout, right?

In other news, I just got distracted for half an hour on Facebook. I don’t even like Facebook and it still sucks you in! I completely lost my train of thought….whoopsies…..

Anyways, I think this phase is going to be more challenging than the cleanse phase because like I said before, I don’t really eat on a schedule. All of these packets are supposed to be taken at times directly correlating to when you eat. Looks like i’m going to have to start being more mindful of what time of the day is! Hopefully with starting my new job next week it will be a little easier to get some structure back into my eating habits.

Without further ado, lets talk about the meal replacement shake you’re supposed to have for lunch everyday. Again, I was super skeptical about how it was going to taste. It’s been my experience in life that the more delicious something is, the more unhealthy it is for you. As soon as I opened the packet, I got a whiff of chocolate cake batter. Were my senses deceiving me? Even when I mixed it with cold water as instructed, it still smelled really good (despite the fact that my stupid self made a huge mess all over my kitchen, seriously though, you’d think that the cap on the bottle wouldn’t pop open the minute you start to shake it considering it was MADE for mixing drinks!!!!).

It takes like watery brownie batter….I don’t hate it! Just the a tip, make sure to use super cold water when you mix it so that way it’s as shake-like as possible. Honestly, I am so surprised at how good this is, especially considering what I had to go through with the fiber drink. If you were to give me this and call it a chocolate shake I would never guess that it was actually healthy for me.

The weather is just as beautiful as it was yesterday and I think I’m going to forgo the gym today.I love the fact that my apartment is within biking distance of the peninsula, my favorite place. Since I’m broke I went to my parent’s house, rooted around the garage for a bit and finally found what I was looking for: a usable bike. Granted this bike (my dad’s) probably hasn’t seen the light of day for a couple years and has more rust than I’d like, it’s perfect (free) for what I need.

I’m off to go get some much needed sunshine and bike around the peninsula, perhaps even taking another tasty shake with me. Let’s meet back here same time tomorrow.
